What clients are saying.
I've spent $15k in the last 24 months to work on this issue or related with other modalities and therapists. Nothing got my drive back. You did it in 30 minutes. Most impactful session I've had, you were fantastic, thank you so much.— G.C.
Working with Leah was truly transformational. I came to her feeling creatively blocked and overwhelmed. I couldn't even sit down to write, let alone finish my book. But after just a few sessions, something shifted. I felt unblocked, like the words were finally allowed to flow again. Writing stopped feeling like a battle and started to feel joyful and natural. I was able to finish my book and reconnect with my true voice. Leah helped me come back to the heart of why I wanted to write in the first place. Her guidance gave me the clarity, confidence, and ease I didn't even realize I was missing. I'm so grateful.— L.E.
Working with Leah has been so beneficial to me in a variety of ways and am so grateful for the value she provides. After each session, I feel so revitalized and renewed, plus she's been able to help me reverse symptoms of a chronic hormonal condition — something I thought was impossible!!! Leah listens to whatever I'm going through and tailors the session to exactly what I need. I love how each session is completely new. I always walk away with a fresh perspective. Thank you, Leah!!— T.F.
Leah is absolutely amazing at what she does. I truly can't say enough about the impact she's had on my life. I've experienced incredible breakthroughs through our work together — she helped me navigate loss, and transform how I feel about nearly every area of my life. Just today, I came in completely overwhelmed after dealing with a very difficult client, after our session I was able to handle the rest of my day — including more challenges — with total ease. The experience during the session was so powerful — the visualizations, the feelings, the insight. I left with a deep sense of joy and clarity. Leah is simply incredible.— S.J.
I feel grounded and better than I have in weeks. I believe I can take on the world.— J.J.
It is like she reads my mind and knows exactly what I need to work on and release... be it tense muscles or releasing what no longer serves me.— A.A.
It was amazing. Otherworldly.— J.S.
Leah was terrific. I do feel energized.— M.R.
Working with Leah was a turning point for me. I'd reached a place in my career where I had achieved a lot, but I started asking myself, what now? It was time to reset and get clear on where I'm heading. The hypnotherapy sessions helped me reconnect with what brought me to the game in the first place. I've always played my best when I let myself feel it, and Leah helped me tap back into that edge with confidence. We set a clear vision for future goals, not just around wins, but around how I want to feel and grow, both on and off the course.— R.R.
I came out of our work feeling grounded, focused, and inspired. I'm not just chasing results. I'm playing with purpose again.— S.A.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the subconscious mind?
- The subconscious mind lies below the level of conscious awareness — a reservoir of thoughts, emotions, memories, beliefs, and desires that shape your behavior and experiences. While the conscious mind handles your immediate, logical thinking, the subconscious runs beneath the surface: storing long-term memories, processing information rapidly and intuitively, and driving your habits, motivations, and automatic responses. Many of the beliefs formed through past experience and social conditioning live there, influencing you without your realizing it. Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious to bring insight, resolve conflicts, release emotional blockages, and create new patterns of thinking that align with your goals.
- What is hypnotherapy?
- Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis — a state of deep relaxation and focused attention — as a tool to help you make positive changes in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In that relaxed state, a trained hypnotherapist communicates with your subconscious mind using suggestion, imagery, and visualization to address your specific goals. It can help with anxiety, phobias, stress, smoking cessation, weight management, insomnia, and pain, as well as performance, confidence, and overall well-being. Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy conducted collaboratively — the hypnotherapist guides, and you stay in control throughout.
- What is Hypno Travel Coaching?
- A Hypno Travel Coach helps you set goals, overcome obstacles, and make the most of the emotional and personal-growth side of your journeys. You can book a free discovery call to learn more.
- What is hypnosis?
- Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and increased suggestibility that lets you access your subconscious mind more readily. In deep relaxation and heightened concentration, you become more open to positive suggestion and imagery — gently bypassing the critical chatter of the conscious mind so change can happen at a deeper level.
- What can I expect the first session to be like?
- Your first session includes intake questions, a short explanation of hypnosis, time for your questions, a blueprint for our work together, a self-hypnosis guide, and a full hypnotherapy session. Follow-up appointments are available for lasting change. Find a comfortable, quiet space where you can relax — most people find hypnotherapy very relaxing and feel refreshed and calm afterward. Payment is accepted via Venmo or Zelle and is due at least 24 hours before the session; once you book, I'll send a payment request from heartofthewoodswellness@gmail.com.
- What do I need for my hypnotherapy session?
- Just a few simple things:
- Zoom audio or dial-in access via phone, laptop, or tablet
- A comfortable chair, sofa, or bed in a private spot where you won't be disturbed (pets included!)
- Devices on "Do Not Disturb," with notifications off
- A strong, reliable internet connection
- Headphones or earbuds to help block out external noise
- Any intake forms completed in advance
- An open mind and a willingness to engage with the process
- How many sessions do I need for a specific issue?
- Twelve sessions is typically the "tipping point" for real, lasting transformation — though results vary from client to client and by issue. Most clients work through an entire issue in about 3–4 sessions, so 12 sessions can address roughly 3–4 areas of concern. Some topics take longer (weight goals being one, depending on your goals). Hypnotherapy also works beautifully as an ongoing weekly or monthly part of your self-care. We'll map out your priorities together in the first session, and package rates are available — just ask.
- Are all sessions remote?
- Yes! All sessions are remote and can be accessed from anywhere.
- What's the cancellation and refund policy?
- All sales are final for private Hypnotherapy and Hypno Travel Coaching sessions — but there's no contract, no obligation, and no pressure. Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule; a $50 fee applies to cancellations or reschedules made within 24 hours of the session start time.

- Hypnotherapy is meditation with a goal — what if I don't think I can meditate? Can anyone be hypnotized?
- Meditation is a skill that develops over time with practice, so be patient with yourself and embrace the process, even if your mind feels busy or distracted at first — the goal is simply presence, awareness, and inner calm. And while most people can be hypnotized, responsiveness varies from person to person. It depends on your willingness, openness, and ability to relax and concentrate; people who are highly skeptical or have a strong need for control may find it takes a little more practice.
- Is hypnotherapy natural?
- Yes. Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state — we all move in and out of trance many times a day, passing through it on the way into sleep and as we wake. It's a collaborative process: the hypnotherapist does not and cannot control you, and hypnosis can't make you do anything against your will. You can accept or reject any suggestion, and you stay in control at all times. What hypnosis is not: sleep or blackout, stage hypnosis, amnesia, or mind control.
- What is hypnosis like?
- Most people describe hypnosis as deeply relaxing — a focused, trance-like state similar to meditation or a daydream. It isn't sleep or unconsciousness; your attention becomes highly focused even as awareness of your surroundings softens. Common experiences include deep relaxation, heightened imagination and focus, an altered sense of time, and increased receptivity to positive suggestion. You remain in control throughout and can reject any suggestion that isn't for your highest good — the experience is personal, and can vary from session to session.
- How can hypnotherapy help relieve my stress and anxiety?
- Hypnotherapy can be an effective tool for managing and reducing stress and anxiety. It works by accessing the subconscious mind, where deeply ingrained thoughts, beliefs, and patterns reside. In practice, that means: inducing deep relaxation to release tension and reframe anxious thoughts; uncovering and resolving the root causes of anxiety; challenging negative self-talk and replacing it with more empowering beliefs; developing relaxation and coping strategies you can use in daily life; and building the self-confidence and self-worth that anxiety so often erodes.
- How can hypnotherapy help with my healthy lifestyle or weight goals?
- Hypnotherapy is a popular weight and wellness tool because it works with the subconscious — where your habits, beliefs, and emotional responses around food and body actually live. Early studies found that people who used hypnosis lost more than twice as much weight as those who dieted without it, and research in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis found hypnobehavioral therapy improved eating habits and body image (Women's Health, 2018). That said, I always clarify with clients that we focus on a healthy body — which looks different for each of us. When we truly tap into the subconscious, it often knows best what we need to live our healthiest life. Whether that's losing weight because it's right for your body, building healthier habits around food and exercise, or training for your first 5K, hypnotherapy can be a wonderful tool in your kit.
